Day 1: Arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport, Lima.

Contact person and assistance at the international airport, transfer to your hotel. Stay-over in Lima.

Day 2: Lima City Tour. Private bus and on foot.

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the colonial centre of Lima: San Martin Square, Union Road, the main square (Plaza de Armas), and a visit to the Cathedral. Then, we will visit the San Francisco Convent and its catacombs. We´ll continue our tour along the coast and the esplanades of San Isidro and Miraflores. Lunch at a restaurant at the seafront, enjoying seafood. In the afternoon, we´ll visit the National Museum of Anthropology and History in Pueblo Libre. Dinner and welcoming cocktail. Stay-over in Lima.

Day 3: Lima – Arequipa (2300m). Plane – 1 h.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the airport, arrival in Arequipa. Contact person and assistance at the airport. Start of the City Tour: visiting the viewpoints of Carmen Alto and Yanahuara. Lunch at a “picanteria”, a restaurant specialized in spicy dishes. In the afternoon, we´ll walk through the city centre, the main square, the Cathedral, the Church of the Companions of Jesus, the Santa Catalina Convent and the central market. Stay-over in Arequipa. 

Day 4: Arequipa – Colca Valley (3600 m). Private bus – 4 h.

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we´ll leave for the Colca Valley. We will pass through part of the National Reserve Salinas Aguada Blanca watching vicunias, lamas and alpacas in their natural environment. Lunch at a local restaurant. Approaching our hotel, we will see the first views of the canyon, its terraces and the way of life of its inhabitants. Relaxing in the hotel to acclimatize. In the afternoon, bathing in the termal baths of La Calera. Stay-over in the Colca Valley.

Day 5: Colca Canyon – Cruz del Condor – Puno (3800 m). Private bus – 8 h.

Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning, we´ll go to the Condor Cross (Cruz del Condor) and, if we´re lucky, we can see the condors fly close to us there. We´ll see the canyon, its terraces, landscape and way of life of its inhabitants. Return on the same side of the canyon with a stop at the villages of Maca and Yanque. Lunch at a local restaurant. We´ll continue our trip to Puno, passing through Patapampa, the highest pass of the entire tour at an altitude of almost 5000 metres. Arrival in Puno by the end of the afternoon. Stay-over in Puno.  

Day 6: Puno – Floating Islands of Uros – Taquile Island. Bus and boat full day.

Breakfast at the hotel. At the small port of Puno, we´ll embark on a boat to the archipelago of the Uros in the National Reserve of Titikaka. We´ll visit a floating island made of bulrush, and a head of the family will receive us and explain their reason for being and their traditions to us. We´ll continue our trip to Llachon peninsula and a head of community will receive us. Lunch at a typical restaurant, enjoying quinoa soup and fish from the lake.

* Note: Before lunch, members of community will explain us their life and the principal’s economics activities.

Departure from Taquile and arrival in Puno. Stay-over in Puno.

Day 7: Puno – Sillustani – La Raya (4320 m) – Raqchi – Andahuaylillas – Cusco (3400 m). Private bus.

Breakfast at the hotel. Leaving Puno we´ll across Juliaca city and the others altiplanic towns. We’ll arrive to Kunurana town. Reception by the local authorities, parade and folkloric presentation by the children of the community, social activity at the school: delivery of notebooks, educational material and clothing from the visitors to the children. End of the activity and continuation of the trip.

* Note: for this activity of “sharing”, the visitors will carry school supplies (books, stories, pencils, notebooks, etc.) and little-used clothing to be delivered personally to children in their school.

Lunch on our way. The following visit will be to the Archeological Complex of Raqchi with its temples, habitations, barns, wellsprings and Inca trails. In the village of Andahuaylillas we´ll get to know the impressive decoration of the Temple of the Apostle San Pedro. Arrival in Cusco by the end of the afternoon. Stay-over in Cusco.  

 Day 8: Cusco City Tour. Private bus and on foot.

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, there´s a walk through the centre: the Plaza de Armas, a visit to the Cathedral and the Sun Temple or Koricancha. In the surroundings of the city, we´ll visit the fortress of Puca Pucara, the water temple Tambomachay, the temple of the Pachamama, Quenco, and the megalithic ceremonial site of Saqsaywaman. Lunch at a local restaurant. Free afternoon to discover the city: markets, museums, bars, spas etc. Stay-over in Cusco.

Day 9: Cusco – Sacred Valley (2300m) – Ollantaytambo – Agua Calientes (2000m). Bus and train.

Breakfast at the hotel. We´ll go to the Sacred Valley, so called because of its fertile soils. We´ll visit the arts´ and crafts´ market of Pisac, where some people are still using bartering. Following our visit, we will get to know the salt mines of Maras composed of over a 3000 salt terraces dating from the Inca times. Lunch in the Sacred Valley. After lunch, we´ll visit the village and fortress of Ollantaytambo. Transfer to the train station where we´ll take the train that will ge tus to the village of Machu Picchu (1,5 hour distance). Reception and relaxing at the hotel. Stay-over in Aguas Calientes.

Day 10: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu (2400m) – Ollantaytambo – Cusco. Bus and train.

Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning, we will take a bus to go up to visit the citadel of Machu Picchu, sighting the agricultural zone, accomodations, temples, canals, wellsprings and plazas of that epoch. Duration of visit between 2,5 and 3 hours. Descent to Aguas Calientes. Lunch in Aguas Calientes. Return to Cusco by train and bus. Relax in the hotel. Stay-over in Cusco.

Day 11: Cusco – Lima. Plane – 1 h.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the airport, arrival in Lima. Lunch or lunch box depending on the flight schedule. Assistance and formalities to your international flight.
